It has been an immensely busy start to 2025 for Sports & Stadia 📞
❄️ Despite maintained sub-zero temperatures down to -7°C across the country, we are proud that every game our service was utilised went ahead, as planned.

Premiership Rugby:

“Over the Festive Fixtures period, all games once again remained on despite some heavy snowfall in Premiership Rugby heartlands. The last Premiership Rugby fixture to be postponed due to weather was in 2009, thanks in no small part to ongoing multi-year investment in pitch protection technology, provided by Sports and Stadia Services Ltd.
Founded by former professional cricketer Nigel Felton, Sports & Stadia Services installs MacLeod Covers – its semi-automated pitch protection system – to ensure that Premiership pitches are protected at all clubs and no matches are postponed due to adverse weather conditions.”

Cambridge United Football Club Stadium Manager, Ian Darler:

“I am certain the fixture would have been in doubt had it not have been for the MacLeod cover as the south stand run off area at the stadium froze through our normal frost sheets so the decision to bring Sports & Stadia was spot on. I must also thank the EFL (English Football League) for putting the arrangement in place for the televised games as I know what effect a postponed fixture has with their organisation.”

Well done to the Sports & Stadia team and all grounds staff across the country working all hours to provide the best surfaces possible.
