  • Clubs take delivery of MacLeod Pitch Protection Systems

    Crystal Palace FC, Oostend and Lech Poznan all took delivery of a MacLeod Pitch Protection System during the latter part of 2013. After lengthy consideration of all the options the flexibility of the MacLeod Pitch Protection System and the ability to reduce in Poland their undersoil heating running costs, saw these clubs choose Sports & Stadia Services to provide their protection.

  • SSS cover in Iceland for the FIFA World Cup Play Off Qualifier Match Iceland vs Croatia.

    Sports & Stadia are currently providing their services to The FA of Iceland for their historic FIFA World Cup play off match vs Croatia on Friday 15th November. The system arrived in Reykjavik on November 4th and has been installed at the National Stadium Laugardalsvöllur since November 8th protecting the pitch from the harsh weather conditions prevalent in Iceland at this time of the year.

  • New Winter Season kicks off with FA Cup Round 1

      A busy weekend as The FA Cup sees covers at Bishops Stortford FC and Shortwood United FC for their live televised FA Cup ties on ITV and BT Sport. Both clubs have had the benefits of the service as supplied to The FA for all live televised FA Cup ties

  • Cheltenham Festival saved

    The world renowned National Hunt Cheltenham Festival beat the late winter snap by fully covering over 65 acres of ground on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March. Racing fans throughout the world were able to watch a magnificent Festival as the course was covered, uncovered and recovered for the first three days. Without covering it is likely that racing would not have gone ahead with temperatures dropping to -11 on Monday night.

  • LV under no threat due to foresight of Premiership Rugby

    Premiership Rugby clubs Leicester, Gloucester, Bath, Worcester, Sale, Wasps and Saracens all benefit from the pitch protection service as supplied by Sports & Stadia Services, over what has been a wet winter and at times cold with periods of heavy snowfall. The host clubs, working effectively with SSS staff, have removed tonnes of snow, removed from the pitch cover without any damage to the pitch using the lighweight snowbrushes, from the perimter of the pitches.   • The magic of the FA Cup protected

    Sunday 27th January saw Oldham Athletic FC defeat Liverpool FC in the FA Cup in front of  large television audience in many parts of the world. Up to 8 inches of snow were removed off the pitch cover during the week leading up to the game, whilst also protecting against significant cold temperatures.   • Cheltenham Gold Cup trials go ahead

    Sports & Stadia Services succeed in providing football, horse racing and rugby union to the sporting public for the weekend of the 26th/27th January. The trials for the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Racecourse went ahead after successful protection of the course with frost covers 11 days prior to the meeting.
