Cheltenham Festival saved
The world renowned National Hunt Cheltenham Festival beat the late winter snap by fully covering over 65 acres of ground on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th March. Racing fans throughout the world were able to watch a magnificent Festival as the course was covered, uncovered and recovered for the first three days. Without covering it is likely that racing would not have gone ahead with temperatures dropping to -11 on Monday night.

LV under no threat due to foresight of Premiership Rugby
Premiership Rugby clubs Leicester, Gloucester, Bath, Worcester, Sale, Wasps and Saracens all benefit from the pitch protection service as supplied by Sports & Stadia Services, over what has been a wet winter and at times cold with periods of heavy snowfall. The host clubs, working effectively with SSS staff, have removed tonnes of snow, removed from the pitch cover without any damage to the pitch using the lighweight snowbrushes, from the perimter of the pitches. The magic of the FA Cup protected
Sunday 27th January saw Oldham Athletic FC defeat Liverpool FC in the FA Cup in front of large television audience in many parts of the world. Up to 8 inches of snow were removed off the pitch cover during the week leading up to the game, whilst also protecting against significant cold temperatures. Cheltenham Gold Cup trials go ahead
Sports & Stadia Services succeed in providing football, horse racing and rugby union to the sporting public for the weekend of the 26th/27th January. The trials for the Gold Cup at Cheltenham Racecourse went ahead after successful protection of the course with frost covers 11 days prior to the meeting.

Barclays Premier League protected
Barclays Premier League newcomers Southampton FC were delighted with the MacLeod Pitch Protection System prior to their live Monday night match on Monday 21st January vs Everton. Without it the game would have been in doubt with 4 inches of snow removed from the covers, and sub zero temperatures protected by the warm airflow beneath the cover for 4 days.
